J.C Higgins 3 Speed

A Piece of American Cycling History?

Sears sold J.C. Higgins bikes to America's consumers in the 50's and 60's. J. Higgins bikes were actually made by Puch in Austria. This particular bike was made in 1957. I found it parked out in the weather at the South Yacht Harbor. One of boat owners had bought it at a junk sale and was it using to get around town. He drove a hard bargain, but once I looked at the details of the bike I wanted to work on it.

The crank is beautiful.

The white pedals came with, the seat was an Ebay addition.

The replacement head badge was also from Ebay.

It came without a head badge.
